Delayed

Did you know that when the weather gets cold enough, snow will actually accumulate on airplanes and just.not.let.go?? When this happens, a team of people are brought in to actually de-ice those planes.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why our flight left over an hour later than scheduled. And while it totally damaged our plans to get into the country, I gotta say we got really lucky. If you've got an eye on the news, aside from everything going in Algeria, the European news keeps covering the hundreds of flights that have been canceled/delayed for days especially in London Heathrow. Considering that we managed to get out of the country when the airport shut down 260+ flights (including two which were flying into Paris), we got really freaking lucky.

(By the way, we have managed to make it to Paris and are happily in our room, having eaten a fabulous breakfast and ready to take on this freezing wonderland. See you soon!)
